SCONUL Statistical Questionnaire

All UK HE libraries are invited to complete the SCONUL Statistical Questionnaire, which forms the foundation of all SCONUL’s statistical reports and services. The questionnaire details library resources, usage, income and expenditure for any academic year. Contributors can log into the web form here and submit their data; others can view the questions asked.

The current questionnaire is available at   SCONUL Statistical Return for 2010-11.
Access to this data requires a log-in using your institutional account. If you have forgotten your login details, please contact info@sconul.ac.uk.

A definition for each question is provided within the web-based form, along with general guidance. Statistics are counted from the 1st of August to the 31st of July in any given year.

The deadline for completion of the full SCONUL statistical return is 13 January 2012

Further guidance on completing the form, including answers to a set of frequently asked questions, is provided under the ‘Method’ tab; additional resources are available under the ‘Experience’ tab. These include:

A printable copy of the questionnaire, and a set of notes and definitions will be available shortly.

The questionnaire for the 2010-11 academic year has only minor changes from that for 2009-10. There are four new questions:

  • B1a (number of other areas managed by the library);
  • C5a (please tick here if figures in C4 & C5 include institutional records);
  • C23a (Number of complete works held in the institutional repository for internal access only)
  • C24a (Total number of complete works held in the institutional repository = C23 + C23a)
